Danny Benedettini returns to Items & Things following his much-lauded “Tell Me Quietly” EP, appearing here with his second solo effort for the label, “Sweet Lies”. A child of punk and cult horror film iconography, the Italian born Benedettini continues to hone his unique take on disco-charred techno experimentation, as demonstrated on both “Tell Me Quietly”, and through his two contributions to Items & Things’ 2012 compilation, “Variables”. In true Items & Things fashion, the four tracks on Sweet Lies could easily be have been transported directly from late 70s Italy or early 90s Detroit.
